For Him and Them: July 2009
Summer is in full swing, and so are the Rockies (our hometown major league baseball team - they've won 22 out of the last 28 games). I hope and trust you are enjoying your summer as much as we are. That's because we have had a full line up of CityConnexx teams swinging for the fences and even removing graffiti from those fences.
That's right, our CityConnexx short-term mission teams are running around the bases across the country scoring some home runs for our Lord and renovating some urban and Native America at-risk communities. Your gift this month helps our ministry partners receive this valuable volunteer service and funding that comes from this unique program.

CityConnexx was a program birthed three years ago by YPN and Compassion to inspire and encourage church groups to come serve in the city for a week or more. We provide the logistics and details so that teams can focus on ministry.
The accomplishments are more than we can mention in this short letter so check out www.CityConnexx.org or go to www.YouTube.com and type in CityConnexx to see videos of recent teams. Better yet, get with your churches youth or small group leaders and bring your own team to experience mission’s right in your own backyard or across the nation.
This summer we'll see more than 500 folks roll up their sleeves and swing hammers, brooms, puppets, bats, basketballs, and much more to reach out to kids living in at-risk neighborhoods. Over $739,000 in volunteer hours has been served so far this summer and over $39,000 in grant issued to our local ministries that desperately need this kind of compassionate assistance.
Come join a winning team and thanks again for all your faithful support that allows our staff to get off the bench and suit up each and everyday.

Your Donations at Work:
I25 Alliance is a network of Light-minded leaders whose purpose is to network, empower and train urban youth workers in the Pikes Peak region of Colorado. With 25 active members from 10 different ministries and local churches, they meet monthly and correspond daily to support each other, plan outreach events and develop strategies on how to better serve the youth in their at-risk communities. YPN is pleased to provide this grant for the Colorado Springs Network monthly meetings for the next year.

JJ Torrez is the director of Illumination Productions, a YPN Ministry Partner in Monument, CO and heads up the I25 Alliance.
Prayer Request:
Their current prayer request is for their Elevate Eastborough Community Uplift campaign. Pray that they would gain access to nine apartment complexes in the Eastborough neighborhood of Colorado Springs in order to host Saturday Outreach day called “Thank You Celebrations” that would provide a holistic approach to community empowerment.
